Whoever is Born Again (OF YAHWEH) CANNOT SIN
Commentary by Nikki
1 John Chapter 3
1 Behold what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called children of Yahweh; and such we are. For this cause the world knoweth us not, because it knew him not.
If we are loved and accepted by this world, we better check ourselves. The world doesn't know Yahweh, so if we are IN HIM, and born of Him, the world will not know us either. If we desire the praise of men, and to be approved of men, we might need to be born again.
2 Beloved, now are we children of Yahweh, and it is not yet made manifest what we shall be. We know that, if he shall be manifested, we shall be like him; for we shall see him even as he is.
Yahshua will be manifested to all, and in those who are born of Him. We don't yet know what is to come for us, who love Him and remain faithful to Him. But John says, "We shall be like him; for we shall see him even as he is."
3 And every one that hath this hope set on him purifieth himself, even as he is pure.
What a HOPE to have! He is pure and holy. He is perfect; beautiful and full of truth. In Him, there is no unrighteousness or guile. John says, "Whoever has this hope set on him, purifies himself, as He is pure." How do we purify ourselves? We repent of sinning against the Most High, and determine not to follow lies anymore. We set our hopes on HIM alone, and cleave to His Word that gives us eternal life. We stop dabbling with sin and make a conscious choice to "go and sin no more." We keep the commandments of Yahweh and we keep the testimony of Yahshua. We depend on and lean on Him and Him alone, for the Spiritual Power to overcome sin. We purify our thoughts and our hands, to no longer think nor commit sin against Him. When we sincerely humble ourselves before Yahweh and repent of all our sins against Him, the Blood of the Lamb washes us clean and we are purified unto Him.
4 Every one that doeth sin doeth also lawlessness; and sin is lawlessness.
John defines sin, as lawlessness. What is lawlessness, but breaking the commandments of Yahweh? Whoever has the HOPE of eternal life in them, repents of lawlessness and determines to "go and sin no more."
5 And ye know that he was manifested to take away sins; and in him is no sin.
Yahshua came to this earth, in the flesh, to redeem sinners FROM their sins: to take them away from us. By His Word and His example of true obedience to His Heavenly Father, He showed us the Path of Righteousness and taught us how to walk it. He was sinless. He was perfect and righteous and by Him, and through Him, and by obeying Him, we too can "go and sin no more."
6 Whosoever abideth in him sinneth not: whosoever sinneth hath not seen him, neither knoweth him.
Whoever abides in HIM does not sin. He is the One Whose WORDS keep us FROM the trap called sin, and when we are IN HIM, we do not sin. John said, "Whoever sins hasn't seen Him and doesn't know Him either." If we sin, we are not born of Him. How can we be? He came to free us FROM sinning. He is gracious and marvellous and His Blood cleanses all who repent, FROM sin. By His Spirit (the Spirit of His Word), He forgives us and says, "Go and sin no more."
7 My little children, let no man lead you astray: he that doeth righteousness is righteous, even as he is righteous:
John pleads with us all, saying "Let no man lead you astray." A man has led the world of Christianity astray by teaching that we are no longer required to keep the commandments of Yahweh, but rather, all we need do, is believe. How can we truly believe HIM, if we don't obey HIM? Let no man lead you astray. Whoever DOES righteousness, IS righteous, like Yahshua was righteous. Whoever follows the Good Shepherd, is no longer a sinner! They are instead, obedient servants of Yahweh, through Yahshua who came and by whose testimony, led the lost sheep of the House of Israel, out of the trap of the world. The world teaches LIES in the name of "God," but the true testimony of Yahshua is "WORSHIP YAHWEH! HE IS TRUE SO OBEY HIM." Whoever believes His testimony then, will be obedient to the commandments of Yahweh and will not commit sin. They will not follow any lies from any liars who teach a contrary and deadly doctrine in HIS NAME. Instead, they will "go and sin no more."
8 he that doeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. To this end was the Son of Elohim manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil.
Yahshua came to witness against the workers of iniquity who lie in the name of Yahweh. They lie and they kill because their father is the devil. They kill with their lies! The Son of Elohim, came to be the STANDARD by which all who want to LIVE with Him eternally, can measure ourselves by. If we love Him, we will obey His voice and only His voice. He said, "GO AND SIN NO MORE."
9 Whosoever is begotten of Elohim doeth no sin, because his seed abideth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is begotten of Elohim.
The seed that remains in those who are born of Yahweh, is the seed of Truth, which is the Word of Yahweh, as presented in the law and the prophets and in the Son of Yahweh; Yahshua, our Saviour and Master. Whoever is truly indwelt with the Spirit of Yahweh, which IS HIS WORD, will not and cannot sin. They "go and sin no more."
10 In this the children of Elohim are manifest, and the children of the devil: whosoever doeth not righteousness is not of Elohim, neither he that loveth not his brother.
The children of Yahweh are manifested (seen) because they are not sinners. They don't break Yahweh's commandments but instead, they keep the testimony of Yahshua and obey His Word. The children of the devil are also manifested. If they still break the commandments of Yahweh and if they do not love their brother, they are not of Yahweh. To love Yahweh is to worship Him only and walk in obedience to His commandments about how to love HIM and how to love your neighbor as yourself. When we are born of Yahweh, we do not commit sin against either Yahweh, or our brother. Instead, we "go and sin no more."
11-12 For this is the message which ye heard from the beginning, that we should love one another: not as Cain was of the evil one, and slew his brother. And wherefore slew he him? Because his works were evil, and his brother's righteous.
If we love Yahweh, we will keep Yahweh's commandments and we will love others (our brothers and sisters) who also keep Yahweh's commandments. We will not be jealous or petty, nor will we riducule the children of the Most High, because we will love them with Yahweh's love. We love them because they are His children. If our own works are evil, and if being around the children of Yahweh makes us feel bad, we probably need to be born again. When we are born again, and from Above, we will love those who love Yahweh and who keep His commandments, rather than despising them. We need to be born again, if we despise our brothers and sisters. Then we need to "go and sin no more.
13 Marvel not, brethren, if the world hateth you.
If the world hates us because of the testimony we have of the Truth; because we keep the commandments of Yahweh and the faith of Yahshua, then we need not marvel. If the world loves us, then we should wonder.
14 We know that we have passed out of death into life, because we love the brethren. He that loveth not abideth in death.
We KNOW that we have been born again, when we love our brethren. If we do not love, then we are not alive spiritually, but rather, we are still dead. If we have a problem loving each other, (especially the children of Yahweh) then we probably need to be born again. Sin cannot abide in any who is born of Yahweh, and hatred is sin.
15 Whosoever hateth his brother is a murderer: and ye know that no murderer hath eternal life abiding in him.
Whoever hates his brother, is a murderer. Why? Because hate kills. No murderer has eternal life in them. If they did, they wouldn't be a murderer. If we hate someone, we might not be born again. We need to repent of our hatred and "go and sin no more."
16 Hereby know we love, because he laid down his life for us: and we ought to lay down our lives for the brethren.
Love is giving up our own wants and needs and desires for the sake of another, as Yahshua did for us. We know love, because the Holy One laid His own body down for our sakes. He indwells us. If He indwells us, we know how to love. We will have His heart in us, toward the brethren and even toward our enemies. He laid His life down for all, even those who were His enemies, so that by Him, they too, could be born again, and delivered from sin. Anyone who loves Him and believes His testimony will be saved. Whoever may be our enemy today, many repent some day. We were enemies of Yahshua too, before we believed and repented and stopped sinning. Love the brethren and love your enemies too, because all life is valuable to the One who laid down His own for the whole world.
17 But whoso hath the world's goods, and beholdeth his brother in need, and shutteth up his compassion from him, how doth the love of Elohim abide in him?
If we have no compassion when someone else is in need of food, shelter, clothing and a friend, we might need to be born again, because Yahweh cares for the poor and loves them very much. Who then are we to snub them or anyone? If we think we are more special or better than somebody else, we probably need to be born again, since Yahweh is no respecter of persons.
18 My Little children, let us not love in word, neither with the tongue; but in deed and truth.
Words are small and talk is cheap. Love is an action word and can save somebody else's life if we do what Yahweh commands us to. Be kind to stangers. Be compassionate toward the poor and needy. Be just toward the fatherless and they who have no families. Be nice to even those who treat us with venom, because you never know why they are acting like that and maybe by the kindness and compassion of Yahweh in us, they will learn to forgive whoever has wronged them and be able to love again too. Yahweh sees the hearts of all of us, so don't judge. Just love.
19-20 Hereby shall we know that we are of the truth, and shall assure our heart before him: because if our heart condemn us, Elohim is greater than our heart, and knoweth all things.
Whatever might be in your heart which is causing you to know you are in sin, Yahweh knows it and is bigger than that hurt or that grudge. Repent of it, forgive they who have wronged you and cleave to HE who has the power to utterly wash your heart clean and restore you back to confidence with Yahweh. If we have trouble forgiving and letting go of hurts, thus we are still feeling hateful towards others, we might need to be born again.
21-22 Beloved, if our heart condemn us not, we have boldness toward Elohim; and whatsoever we ask we receive of him, because we keep his commandments and do the things that are pleasing in his sight.
If we love Yahweh and keep His commandments; if we love each other and do what pleases Him, we won't be afraid to approach Him with our needs. We have confidence that He is hearing us and we draw ever closer to Him, the more we walk in His ways. We have confidence and boldness and we no longer walk in fear of His wrath. Instead, we are full of His peace and joy. Sin robs us of peace with Yahweh. Hallelu'YAH to the Lamb who came to wash us clean and restore us to peace with Yahweh, by His example and by His Words.
23 And this is his commandment, that we should believe in the name of his Son Yahshua Ha Mashiyach, and love one another, even as he gave us commandment.
If we believe in the Name of Yahshua Ha Mashiyach, and love each other, we are born again. We have been transformed from death, into His Marvelous Life. We "go and sin no more."
24 And he that keepeth his commandments abideth in him, and he in him. And hereby we know that he abideth in us, by the Spirit which he gave us.
His Spirit and Life are In His WORD. If we have His Word inside us and His WORD guides us in all we do, we are born of Him. If we keep His commandments, we are alive indeed. His Spirit remains in us when we are born again so we no longer sin. If we are still lacking love for His Word and love for each other, we might need to be born again. Hallelu'Yah!
So, if we are born again, are we sinners? No. Whoever is born of Yahweh, does not commit sin. If we say we are born again but yet still commit sin, according to the Word of Yahweh and of Yahshua, we may still need to be born again.
