The Parables of Yahshua:
The Parable of The Sower
The Parable of the Wheat & The Tares
Matthew 13 Commentary
Matthew Chapter 13
The Parable of the Sower
Matthew 13:1-2 On that day went Yahshua out of the house, and sat by the sea side. And there were gathered unto him great multitudes, so that he entered into a boat, and sat; and all the multitude stood on the beach.
The fact that Yahshua was sitting in a boat on the water, is interesting, as He has said, "Cast your bread upon the waters." The waters are the sea of people. The listeners were on dry ground (the beach) but He was on the water- very awesome symbolism here. Yahshua was casting the Bread of Heaven (Truth) upon the waters. What then should we do? We should cast Yahshua's Word upon the waters. It tends to have a ripple effect.
3 And he spake to them many things in parables, saying, Behold, the sower went forth to sow;
Yahshua is the sower who came to the earth in the flesh, as the Living Word of Yahweh, to teach and preach the Kingdom of Heaven. He planted Good Seed (truth) that grows wheat for the Kingdom of Heaven. The wheat are those who are reborn by this good seed: the Spirit of Yahweh, and become part of the true vine.
4 and as he sowed, some seeds fell by the way side, and the birds came and devoured them:
As Yahshua preached, many heard His Words, but the Word (Spirit/Life) of Yahweh, only takes root in good soil. The first type of soil, are the hearts of they who hear His Word by the wayside; kind of like 'in passing.' As soon as they hear it though, the birds come along, pluck the seeds of Truth and eat them. Evil spirits are described as birds, in many places in scripture. Birds are identified often, with the dead body. The dead body, is that body that is not born of Yahweh, (has not received the Spirit of the Word) as only they who are born of Him, are spiritually alive. Evil spirits take the seed and supplant it in the dead. The dead grow up as a body (tree) of death, not life and feed the evil spirits. The evil spirits are lying spirits that take hold of the unrepentant and use them for their own, personal advantage.
Jeremiah 7:33 And the carcases of this people shall be meat for the fowls of the heaven, and for the beasts of the earth; and none shall fray them away.
Matthew 24:28 For wheresoever the carcase is, there will the eagles be gathered together.
Yahshua describes the wicked empire of Mystery Babylon the Great (False Religious Systems of Man) as:
Revelation 18:2 And he cried mightily with a strong voice, saying, Babylon the great is fallen, is fallen, and is become the habitation of devils, and the hold of every foul spirit, and a cage of every unclean and hateful bird.
What is a cage but a place of confinement; entrapment; slavery and death? The birds gather around the dead and have a feast on their souls. These false religous systems, planted by the seed the birds plucked from the wayside, keep people blind to the truth by all contrary doctrines that snuff the true Light (Spiritual meaning) of the Word of Yahweh, out.
These unclean and hateful birds that gather the seed sown by the wayside, resow the seeds, but lacking the Spirit OF the Word, they resow it for their own gain. They plant trees (people/souls) in churches etc., by enticing them with the promise of life, yet twist the Word of Life around to advance their own agenda. The goal of these birds, is to capture people into their net so they can take their money and use their souls to gain more souls, to make themselves fat and rich. People hear the Word but they hear it the way it is presented to them by the birds (evil spirits) who have in mind nothing but to make the Word of no effect.
5-6 and others fell upon the rocky places, where they had not much earth: and straightway they sprang up, because they had no deepness of earth: and when the sun was risen, they were scorched; and because they had no root, they withered away.
What does Yahshua mean by, "They had no root?" Who is Yahshua? He is:
Revelation 22:16 I Yahshua have sent mine angel to testify unto you these things in the churches. I am the root and the offspring of David, and the bright and morning star.
Yahshua is the true vine. Unless we are firmly rooted IN HIM and are born of Yahweh by Him, we have no root; no depth nor richness so when the sun (Yahshua) rises, (comes again in all His glory), those who aren't firmly planted IN HIm and by HIM, will be burnt up and wither away. Many claim Him as their "personal Lord and Saviour," yet they are not rooted IN HIM, the true vine. Instead, they are rooted in doctrines that seem to revolve around Him, yet in Word and in Deed, they deny Him.
7 And others fell upon the thorns; and the thorns grew up and choked them:
The thorns are also the tares and weeds that grow wild (wild meaning of themselves not of Yahweh), in the world. The Good Seed that is planted among thorns, is choked out of their hearts because of callousness, stubborness, wickedness, disbelief and unrepentance.
8-9 and others fell upon the good ground, and yielded fruit, some a hundredfold, some sixty, some thirty. He that hath ears, let him hear.
Good soil produces the fruit of righteousness because the Word of Truth sinks deep down into the heart. The Good Seed grows up and produces a crop of righteousness for others to eat from. The wheat win souls for the Kingdom of Heaven, because the Spirit of the Word planted in them, is the Spirit of Life. It is Yahshua.
10-11 And the disciples came, and said unto him, Why speakest thou unto them in parables? And he answered and said unto them, Unto you it is given to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it is not given.
Yahshua explained, through the beloved Apostle John, why the world cannot understand the mysteries of the Kingdom of Heaven.
John 14:15-18 If ye love me, ye will keep my commandments. And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may be with you for ever, even the Spirit of truth: whom the world cannot receive; for it beholdeth him not, neither knoweth him: ye know him; for he abideth with you, and shall be in you. I will not leave you desolate: I come unto you.
Yahshua will not abide in anyone who doesn't obey the commandments of Yahweh or keep Yahshua's Word. The Word of Yahshua is Spirit and it is Life, but the dead who don't believe HIM, cannot receive the Spirit OF HIM. Only by His Spirit can we understand the Spiritual meaning of His Words. The world cannot receive the Spirit of Truth because it doesn't see or know Him. The only Way to know Him, is by and through His Words- by believing them. If we love Him, we hear His voice and obey Him. But if we don't truly love Him, we can't hear His voice nor understand the Word He speaks. The truth is, His Word will only take root in those who love Him. By His Word, we are born again. Nobody can be born again, and of Yahweh, if they do not believe Him and do what He commands. Those who don't love Him, will not be granted access to the Tree of Life. Eternal life belongs to they who truly love Yahweh.
12 For whosoever hath, to him shall be given, and he shall have abundance: but whosoever hath not, from him shall be taken away even that which he hath.
"Whosoever hath," means whoever has love for the Truth and love for the Author of Truth. Without love for Yahweh, no one desires to know Him. Whoever has love for Him, will know Him, because the Word becomes alive to them and in them, and thus produces righteousness in them. The righteousness of Yahweh springs up into a tree of everlasting life. Whoever has no love for Him then, cannot keep their life- even that will be taken from them.
13-15 Therefore speak I to them in parables; because seeing they see not, and hearing they hear not, neither do they understand. And unto them is fulfilled the prophecy of Isaiah, which saith, By hearing ye shall hear, and shall in no wise understand; And seeing ye shall see, and shall in no wise perceive: For this people's heart is waxed gross, And their ears are dull of hearing, And their eyes they have closed; Lest haply they should perceive with their eyes, And hear with their ears, And understand with their heart, And should turn again, And I should heal them.
16 But blessed are your eyes, for they see; and your ears, for they hear.
17 For verily I say unto you, that many prophets and righteous men desired to see the things which ye see, and saw them not; and to hear the things which ye hear, and heard them not.
Yahshua is that Word of Life- That Holy ONE who the ancient prophets testified of and longed to see; whose words they longed to hear but He didn't come until His time. That's why Yahshua said those who see and hear Him, are blessed. Now, many see and hear but do not see and do not understand, since His word (which is the Word of Yahweh) is offensive to them and cramps their style?
18 Hear then ye the parable of the sower.
19 When any one heareth the word of the kingdom, and understandeth it not, then cometh the evil one, and snatcheth away that which hath been sown in his heart. This is he that was sown by the way side.
The evil one (described above as birds) comes and takes the seed of everlasting life away from whoever doesn't believe the truth and desire to walk in HIS LIFE.
20- And he that was sown upon the rocky places, this is he that heareth the word, and straightway with joy receiveth it; yet hath he not root in himself, but endureth for a while; and when tribulation or persecution ariseth because of the word, straightway he stumbleth.
Faithfulness to Yahweh is a requirement, not an option for all who want to have eternal life. Yahshua told us that the whole world will hate us for the Truth: The Word of Yahweh. Many fall away from the truth when faced with persecution and tribulation, because their love isn't deep enough for Yahweh. That's why "buildings" in which preachers teach justification by faith alone, are so popular. Many want to receive eternal life but don't want to have to do anything, like persevere in the Word that IS eternal life. This justification by faith only doctrine, suits multitudes because it gives them the hope of eternal life they are looking for, but since it's a watered down and dead doctrine it is false hope. Unless we DO THE WILL OF YAHWEH, and keep the testimony OF YAHSHUA, we cannot be justified, no matter how pretty the words of hirelings sound.
22 And he that was sown among the thorns, this is he that heareth the word; and the care of the world, and the deceitfulness of riches, choke the word, and he becometh unfruitful.
You cannot serve two masters. Yahweh hates double-mindedness. Yahshua said that we cannot love the world and Him too because we will end up despising Him. Here is exactly why the 'propsperity' gospel is so enticing to so many. It's because they are taught that this world belongs to them so they can have it. They CAN have the world, but they cannot have the world and Yahshua too. However, they don't realize this, because all they want to hear is whatever they want to hear.
23 And he that was sown upon the good ground, this is he that heareth the word, and understandeth it; who verily beareth fruit, and bringeth forth, some a hundredfold, some sixty, some thirty.
When we are born from above, we produce fruit for the Kingdom of Heaven, which means we win souls for His Kingdom. When we are not born again, (even if we think we are because we listen to man), we produce fruit that furthers the kingdom of man.
24-26 Another parable set he before them, saying, The kingdom of heaven is likened unto a man that sowed good seed in his field: but while men slept, his enemy came and sowed tares also among the wheat, and went away. But when the blade sprang up and brought forth fruit, then appeared the tares also.
Yahshua is the man who sowed good seed in His Father's field. While men were not watching, meaning paying attention and keeping their eyes steadily focused on HIM, along came Satan and sowed tares (lies) among the good seed. After Satan finished sowing falsehoods among the seed of Truth, he went away. This enemy was Paul of Tarsus, who introduced a counterfeit doctrine and from it, grew a Great Harlot. When the seeds spring forth, tares appear with the wheat and they grow up, side by side, in the field of Yahweh- the world.
27-30 And the servants of the householder came and said unto him, Sir, didst thou not sow good seed in thy field? whence then hath it tares? And he said unto them, An enemy hath done this. And the servants say unto him, Wilt thou then that we go and gather them up? But he saith, Nay; lest haply while ye gather up the tares, ye root up the wheat with them.
Many people ask how a loving Elohim could allow such a thing as falsehoods to be published throughout the earth, in the form of what is called, "the Holy bible." Many refuse to even consider that this could be so. But regardless, it is. Side-by-side, the good seed and the bad seed is planted and all who read the Bible, have the choice between life and death placed directly in front of them. The good seed produces a crop of righteous souls for the Kingdom of Heaven; souls whom Yahshua has bought by His body and by His own shed Blood. The bad seed produces a crop of wickedness; souls who try to enter the Kingdom of Heaven, another way than by the Door: the law and the testomony of Yahweh. The crop of wickedness comprises the body of death: the body of antichrist that deceives the entire world away from keeping the commandments of Yahweh, and the testimony of Yahshua.
30 Let both grow together until the harvest: and in the time of the harvest I will say to the reapers, Gather up first the tares, and bind them in bundles to burn them; but gather the wheat into my barn.
To all preachers, teachers, ministers and laymen alike who believe and teach a secret rapture of the church (Harlot), take heed of the Words of Yahshua. FIRST the tares are gathered into bundles to be burnt in the fire of the wrath of Yahweh. THEN the wheat is gathered into the Kingdom of Heaven. WHO taught people there would be a rapture and that his "church" would be rescued out of the earth, leaving only the wicked on earth? Paul did. It's better to believe Yahweh than men.
36-43 Then he left the multitudes, and went into the house: and his disciples came unto him, saying, Explain unto us the parable of the tares of the field. And he answered and said, He that soweth the good seed is the Son of man; and the field is the world; and the good seed, these are the sons of the kingdom; and the tares are the sons of the evil one; and the enemy that sowed them is the devil: and the harvest is the end of the world; and the reapers are angels. As therefore the tares are gathered up and burned with fire; so shall it be in the end of the world. The Son of man shall send forth his angels, and they shall gather out of his kingdom all things that cause stumbling, and them that do iniquity, and shall cast them into the furnace of fire: there shall be the weeping and the gnashing of teeth. Then shall the righteous shine forth as the sun in the kingdom of their Father. He that hath ears, let him hear.
